"Happiness" def.

A short visual novel about memories, moving on, and the attempt to bridge between both.

- ☼ -

Story:

The room is still and quiet, and your sister, Charlotte, doesn't make a single sound. She sits in silence as she always does. It isn't a new thing for you to find her back in the room you created to cope with what happened when you were children.

It's another attempt you're taking to break her out of this cycle that she's dragging you into.

Maybe today will finally be the day.

You're almost confident that it won't be, though.

Made an account to say God dammit this is good. I've struggled with living in the past and staying trapped in a cycle. Deluding myself that the past was my only sense of happiness once upon a time when my life has only just started (21). Realistically there's so much more to grow and learn from if I just move on. Instead of telling myself I can't grow and move on. THIS GAME IS very simple, but very effective... I honestly believe this is the game and answer I looked for in my life. Hopefully this time I break the cycle. Living in the present, and not the near past or future, and take control of the day. This game sure is something. Felt like a self-reflection. Also scared me a bit experimenting for endings :)

Waking up to this comment honestly made my whole year :') There aren't enough words for me to describe how happy I am that my game helped you in this way! Thank you so so much for playing and for the support. It means everything and more to me! <3

Great job ayalreadyno! Not sure if this comes from a place within you or not but regardless, it hit true. I lost my older sister to a murderer when I was eleven years old. Its been many many sunsets since, I wish I would have made a room for us, if even to take some of her suffering from her. Thank you for allowing us/me to borrow that room for a brief time.

RIP J.K

First, my deepest condolences to you. I did base the emotional aspects of this game off my own grief and how I processed it. The room itself is based on a bedroom we used to share and how the only thing I can recall of it was how it looked during sunset. Thank you so much for playing my game! I wish you all the best

In an odd way it makes it better to have found life experience. I offer you my condolences as well. You might have been bogged down inside at one time but clearly have climbed out of it. Good luck with this and all ever ventures you set out on. I learned how to enjoy life for her and me, you can too. Thanks again.

This visual novel was amazing, the setup to the story telling was all well out together. I'll play again to try and get the other endings.

First, I want to say that the writing in this game is amazing and it deals with some serious topics in a incredible fashion.

The ambience was nailed, from the art style, to the music and the screen effects that perfectly replicate the various feelings our protagonist holds inside, it is truly an unique experience.

That stare Jesus Christ, I am gonna dream about it for weeks.

Great job!
